Riunito con Giusy

Yes! I eventually made it to Parma. The driver, who never really introduced himself, I think it was Flavio, dropped me off at Parma Stazione.

There I had a quick walk around to find Giusy and her friends waiting for me in the car.

We drove to Viadana and after dropping her friends off we went home. I said hi to mom and dad and had a quick drink.

She showed me the bathroom and my bed and I got ready to sleep. After a good 9 hours of sleep I got up and took a hot shower.

After we had breakfast, her brother Antonio joined us and decided to visit a nearby town called Sabbioneta.

Sabbioneta (Casalasco-Viadanese: Subiùnèda) is a town and comune in the province of Mantua, Lombardy region, Northern Italy. It is situated about 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Parma, not far from the northern bank of the Po River. It was inscribed in the World Heritage List in 2008. Source: Wikipedia

After we explored this beautiful old renaissance town, we headed back to have lunch with the family and her boyfriend Costanzo.

Family Lunch

After lunch we watched the Formula 1 race together and as it ended we drove to Mantua, a nearby city.

Mantua, Italy

In Manua we visited some old buildings and went inside the church. Also I had the first little bit of rain since I started my trip. On the way back to the car we walked over the local Christmas market.

Back home we had a Pizza and to finish the day I had the best homemade limoncello I ever had.

For tomorrow I’ve got myself a ride to Verona with Costanzo. Let’s hope for a warm and sunny day.
