Hey there, thanks for reading my blog. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rick. I was born in June 1994. Grew up in a town called Zundert, The Netherlands. So for the first 25 years of my life I’ve lived and spent most of my time around this place.
I’ve always had a extreme passion for music. I started playing the drums at the age of 4. Started bass guitar 7 years later. And at the age of 14 I started gathering experience as an live sound engineer.
After school I decided to work at my dads as a sound engineer. But when I was almost 21 a nice challenge appeared. I had the opportunity to buy a bar, which I did. So for 3 years I owned my own bar. It was a lot of fun but also very hard work. And after 3 years it just didn’t really work out for me anymore. I got back my old job at my dads and started to figure out what was next on my adventure list.
Travel! Yeah, I’ve been thinking about traveling a lot. Just didn’t really know how or where to. So I just got on YouTube and some other travel websites to get inspired. And it worked. I decided to go on a trip around Europe with using as little money as possible. I found platforms like Workaway and Couchsurfing , which seem like great fun. I also decided that my main transportation is going to be hitchhiking.
I don’t have a schedule set for this trip. Also I didn’t plan anything upfront. Just me vs Europe. I’ll just figure out where it’s gonna get me. All I know for now is that I’m leaving on November 27th and I’m super exited!
